Erwin on Shandur Pass with a flat tyre... A long way to go ! |
Motivation….. You can call it a fluid which
fills your veins with rushing blood. Or, a spark that gives ignition to flares
and flames. Nevertheless, at times it could be like the air we fill in our
vehicles tyres. I would not go into the
psychological explanation of motivation. Well, that’s not my field truly. The
point here to make is; motivation can be lost and gained like we lose air in
our vehicles tyres. (And you need to refill of course). The key is not to take
it by heart when the tyres get flat. Instead be ready to get down and fix the
point or puncture hole that is drawing out the air. Likewise, when you feel
down and frustrated you have to give it a moment of thought to find out the cause,
reason or stimulus that is drawing out the energy inside you. It could be a
person, an event, a task unaccomplished, and an expectation unmet or could be
indigestion (simply due to the food you just took in hurry during your lunch
break). When you find the puncture hole, the next step is to clean it with
water or any fluid for greater exposure. Motivation is related to emotions most
of the times so make sure you spot it rightly. But, never over think the
reason. Just work on it. It’s a 5 minutes job to repair a puncture of your
automobile tyre. Similarly, you need not to sit and think philosophically over
the cause/s of feeling down. Just get up and show a match stick to the spark. Be
positive when you feel down that it’s temporary and volatile. Share with a
friend or close one. Have a run or dance. Capture the driving seat of your life
again and steer the vehicle towards your goals. There you go!
